Being surrounded by the Great Lakes offers many beautiful scenes to capture. Lake Michigan is favored by tourists and Michiganders alike because of its beautiful sandy shores and warm temperatures. Have you ever stopped along Highway 2, in the Upper Peninsula just to run along the white sandy shore and get your feet wet in beautiful Lake Michigan? It's almost impossible to resist the allure of the water while en route to your destination!

Thanks to a dear friend of mine who took such a beautiful photo for reference in painting this landscape. I love the teal and blue water with the dusty lavender sky and faded terrain beyond. The contrast between the serenity of the sky to the force of the waves that break along the shore was a joy to capture. Primarily worked in palette knife, (see close-up photo) my style is referred to as 'Realistic Impressionism'. The Giclee' is a gallery-wrapped canvas. The sides can be black or white and ready to hang or frame.
